Keeping The Peace With NOPD’s New Special Operations Unit
February 12th, 2018

In a time where peaceful gatherings can quickly turn into unruly demonstrations, having the ability to quickly adjust to any dynamic situation is paramount in keeping civilians and law enforcement teams safe. The New Orleans Police Department get that and have taken necessary precautions with their new Special Operations Unit.

After listening to the needs and requirements of the NOPD, Ferrara engineers specifically configured this unit to carry all the equipment needed to face any unknown emergency with speed and capability. This vehicle was purchased through cooperation of the City of New Orleans Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. Some of the response duties it has been tasked with include:

  • SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics)
  • EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal)
  • Crowd Control
  • Hostage Negotiations
  • Clandestine Operations
  • Surveillance
  • Rescue
  • Incident Command Center
  • Recovery

If you think a vehicle like this would benefit your city or department or have any questions on how we can help solve specific problems, then contact Kevin for a consultation, specs and drawings.
